The majority of young drivers are safe, considerate and attentive, But, 17–25-year-olds are still much more at risk of being in a serious collision than other road users, particularly during their first year after passing their test.
In 2014 to 2021 there has been 3,478 Young Driver Casualties in Greater Manchester, 303 of those were seriously injured and 32 were fatalities.

Always stick to speed limits. Excess speed is one of the main causes of teenage accidents

Always wear your seat belt & make sure everyone else does too!

Adjust your car's head rest to a height behind your head, not your neck, this will minimise whiplash in an accident

Make sure your windscreen is clean & ensure that your washers are topped up

When traffic lights turn green, make sure junctions are clear, before you move off

Never pull out in front of anyone, or swerve into someone else's lane

Don't make assumptions about what other drivers are going to do.
