Get Noticed… Be Somebody… Become a Volunteer.
Whenever we talk about the fire service the common image is that of Firefighters fighting fires -
however the role of the fire service is far wider than just this.
A large part of our role is working alongside the local communities making homes safe from fire hazards, visiting and speaking to local schools and businesses about fire safety,
and supporting and working with children and young people across the region.
Our volunteers, who are better known as CAT (Community Action Team),
play a vital role in the success of many of these community initiatives,
acting as support to the fire crews and providing a friendly focal point of contact within the community.
