THOUSANDS of people gathered to cheer on Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service in the Manchester Day Parade.
The event which included other emergency services, local groups and charities took place on June 17 alongside other celebrations of Mancunian culture.
Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham was leading the parade with Lord Mayor of Manchester, June Hitchen and Councillor Pat Karney.
Also weaving their way through the city centre were a fantastic selection of puppets, structures, dancers and bands.
The GMFRS entry included our pipe band, miniature children’s fire engine, the official flag, two fire bikes and the parade pump.
Our mascot Cracker was joined by a number of volunteers, non-uniformed staff, firefighters and the Eccles Fire Cadets who showed off their new flag waving routine.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a great success and thanks to all those who came to cheer us on.
The next big parade will be Manchester Pride during the Bank Holiday weekend on August 25.
