Between 5.30pm on Friday, December 15 and 8am on Monday, December 18, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended 238 incidents. Read about some of the ones we attended on Saturday below.
RTC – East Lancs Raod
AT 9:46am on Satruday, December 16, two crews from Farnworth and the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Leigh attended a road traffic collision in the East Lancashire Road, Worsley.
Firefighters rescued one casualty from a trapped vehicle using cutting gear, trauma equipment and stabalisation equipment.
Crews were on the scene for approximately forty minutes.
House fire – Salford
AT 6:42pm on Saturday, December 16, three crews from Broughton, Manchester Central and Whitefield attended a house fire involving an unattended candle in Park Lane, Salford.
Residents at the property had left the unattended candle burning in the dining room and returned to discover it had caused a fire. Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan to tackle the blaze.
The cause of the fire was accidental, and a safe and well check was carried out at the property by firefighters. Crews were on the scene for forty five minutes.
