RTC – Salford – April 20, 2017
AT 5.24 on April 20, three fire engines from Eccles and Stretford were joined by the Major Rescue Unit and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton at a road traffic collision on the M602 westbound.
The incident involved four vehicles, two of which had made it onto the hard shoulder while the other two were in the outside lane.
Firefighters along with colleagues from NWAS used long boards and stabilisation equipment to rescued two women from one of the vehicles. They were both conveyed to hospital.
Four other casualties had self-rescued and were suffering minor injuries and were assessed by paramedics at the scene.
Crews were detained for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
