Our Firefighters attend all sorts of incidents and in the last 24 hours, we have received around 128 calls to our Control Centre from people across Greater Manchester. This includes duplicate calls.
The most significant incidents are below:
At 13.34 on Sunday September 4, Fire engines from Wythenshawe and Altrincham attended a chip pan fire on a gas cooker, on Mallory Walk in Manchester. One casualty was led to safety by firefighters and was later taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Firefighters were at the house for around an hour.
At 15.49, Fire engines from Rochdale and Heywood, along with the Technical Response Unit and Major Response Unit from Ashton under Lyne, attended a Road Traffic Collison on Ings Lane in Rochdale. The incident involved one vehicle with one person inside. The fire service stabilised the vehicle and extricated the casualty, who was then taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 50 minutes.
