Between 5.30pm on Thursday, January 18 and 8.00am on Friday, January 19 we attended 36 incidents, read about a garage fire in Failsworth below.

RTC – Wigan

AT 7:29pm on Thursday, January 18, one crew from Wigan attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in Warrington Lane, Wigan.

On arrival, crews discovered that one car was on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the flames.

One casualty was treated on the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital as a precaution.

Crews were on the scene for over five hours.

RTC – Ashton-Under-Lyne

AT 8:30pm on Thursday, January 18, one crew from Hollins and the Technical Response Unit and Major Response Unit from Ashton-Under-Lyne attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in the junction of Queens Road and Mossley Road in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

Firefighters rescued one casualty from a trapped car using specialist equipment.

One casualty was treated on the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital as a precaution.

Crews were on the scene for approximately four and half hours.

Garage fire - Failsworth

AT 1:05am on Friday, January 19, two crews from Philips Park and Hollins attended a detached garage fire in Ridgefield Street in Failsworth, Manchester.

Firefighters extinguished the flames using one hose reel, breaking in gear and a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is thought to be deliberate. Crews were on the scene for 45 minutes.
