Timber fire –Radcliffe

AT 10.31pm on September 7, two fire engines from Bolton Central and Whitefield attended a fire involving a large quantity of wood to the rear of a house in Stopes Road, Radcliffe.

The timber was well alight on arrival of crew who used two hose reels to deal with the fire.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and firefighters were at the scene for just over an hour.


Warehouse equipment fire – Trafford Park

AT 11.14pm on September 7, three fire engines from Stretford, Sale and Eccles attended Barton Dock Road, Trafford Park to a fire involving a battery of a portable truck in a single story warehouse.

Firefighters used a dry powder extinguisher and one covering jet to deal with the fire and monitored the incident with a thermal imaging camera to check for remaining heat pockets.

Crew were at the scene for around two hours.
