BETWEEN 5.30pm on Monday, April 10, and 8.30am Tuesday, April 11, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 146 calls and attended 79 incidents.
Here are some incidents firefighters attended:
House fire – Manchester
AT 9.05pm on Monday, April 10, three crews from Withington and Gorton were called to a fire at a house on Shire Oak Road, Manchester.
On arrival crews found a fire in the lounge and used a hose reel, two breathing apparatus, specialist tools and lighting to put it out then a fan to clear smoke from the property.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
Firefighters were at the scene for two and a half hours.
Flat fire - Audenshaw
THREE crews from Hyde, Stalybridge and Philips Park were called to a fire at a flat on Audenshaw Road, Audenshaw, at 9.47pm for Monday, April 10.
Crews used six breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire and a fan to clear smoke from the property.
Crew Manager Hoyles said: “Smoking is one of the biggest causes of fires in homes across Greater Manchester.
“If you do smoke, make sure that when put a cigarette out you put it right out.”
Firefighters were on the scene for approximately one hour.
