Between 5.30pm Sunday, February 4 and 8am Monday, February 5, North West Fire Control received 86 calls and our crews attended 44 incidents across Greater Manchester.

Caravan fire, Manchester

At 5.56pm on Sunday, February 4 two fire engines from Manchester central and Philips Park were called to a fire involving a derelict caravan on open ground at Makkah Close, Manchester.

Firefighters used one jet, a ceiling hook and one breathing apparatus to put the fire out.

Crews were at the scene for 25 minutes.


House fire, Mossley

At 7.26pm on Sunday, February 4 three fire engines from Oldham, Stalybridge and Mossley attended a fire involving a washing machine at a house on Middlehurst Road, Mossley.

Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire and remained at the house for one hour and 20 minutes.

House fire, Rochdale

At 9.26pm on Sunday, February 4, three fire engines from Rochdale and Heywood attended a fire involving a washing machines at a house on James Butterworth Street, Rochdale.

firefighters used one hose reel and one hearth kit to extinguish the fire.

Crews were in attendance for 25 minutes.


Commercial fire, Trafford  

At 11.57pm on Sunday, three fire engines from Stretford, Moss Side and Salford attended a fire at Old Trafford football ground.

On arrival crews found a fire involving a battery charger unit and hand held radio bank in the first floor store room on the East Stand concourse.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, two positive pressure ventilation fans, electrical gloves, wire cutters, a dewalt saw, thermal imaging camera and lighting at the incident.

Crews were in attendance for one hour and thirty five minutes.
