Between 5.30pm on Friday, September 29 and 8.00am on Monday, October 2 we received 484 calls and responded to 252 incidents. Read below the details of the incidents we attended on Friday evening.
Road traffic collision – Manchester
AT 19.38pm on Friday, September 29 two fire engines from Manchester Central as well as the Technical Response Unit and Major Response Unit from Ashton-Under-Lyne were called to a road traffic collision in Oldham Road, Manchester.
On arrival firefighters used specialist equipment to free one person from a car, at which point they were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Firefighters remained at the scene for one hour.
Building fire – Bury
AT 20.51pm on Friday, September 29, three fire engines from Heywood, Bury and Whitefield were called to a fire at the old fire station in Bury.
On arrival firefighters used a nine metre ladder, two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to successfully bring the fire under control and extinguish it.
Firefighters were at the incident for 50 minutes.
