Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended 46 incidents between 5.30pm and 8am, Thursday 22 into Friday 23 February. Read about a kitchen fire and a shed fire below.

Kitchen fire, Stockport

At 6pm three fire engines from Withington, Whitehill and Stockport were called to a fire in domestic property kitchen on Craig Road, Stockport.

On attendance crews discovered the fire involved a pan of food left unattended on a cooker and one hose, two breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan were used to extinguish the blaze.

GMFRS were on the scene for 35 minutes.

Shed fire, Bolton

At 7.40pm two crews from Farnworth attended an area of waste ground on Temple Road, Bolton where a derelict wooden shed was on fire.

The fire service used a hose and additional lighting at the scene and were in attendance for 40 minutes.
