Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended 39 incidents overnight between 5.30pm on February 1 and 8.30am on February 2, 2018, including a water rescue on the River Spodden.
Road traffic collision - Manchester
JUST before 6.20pm on February 1, two fire engines from Blackley, a technical response unit, and a major response unit from Ashton-under-Lyne attended a road-traffic collision on Moston Lane in Manchester. Firefighters made the scene safe and rescued one casualty from the vehicle. Crews were in attendance for 40 minutes.
Flat fire – Bolton
AT 11.30pm on February 1, two fire engines from Bolton Central, and one from Bolton North, attended a fire involving a flat in Presto Gardens, Bolton. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, a hose and a ventilation fan to bring the fire under control. One casualty was suffering from smoke in inhalation and was taken to hospital. Crews were on the scene for around 3 hours.
Water rescue - Rochdale
AT 11.49pm on February 1, two fire engines from Rochdale, the boat from Heywood and the technical rescue unit from Leigh attended a water rescue on Dell Road, Rochdale. On arrival crews led one casualty to safety, giving them oxygen before handing over to North West Ambulance Service. Crews were on the scene for around 40 minutes.
