Overnight crews attended 51 incidents, the incidents that they attended included a road traffic collision and building fire.
Road traffic collision - Ashton in Makerfield
AT 22.06pm, on Thursday, December 14, two fire engines from Wigan, as well as the major rescue unit and technical response unit from Leigh were called to a road traffic collision on Bolton Road, Ashton in Makerfield.
On arrival crews found that two cars had been involved in the crash and had to rescue a person from one of the cars. They used a trauma bag, stop chocks, hose reel, cutting gear, lighting hearth kit and stabilisation box to safely free the person from the car.
Once out paramedics were able to care for the person. Firefighters we at the incident for one hour and 50 minutes.
Building fire – Manchester
AT 22.49pm, on Thursday, December 14, three fire engines from Stretford, Manchester Central and Salford were called to a building fire in Trafford Park Road, Manchester.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a silo on the roof of the building had developed a mechanical fault and caught on fire. To extinguish the flames crews used two breathing apparatus and a jet.
Firefighters remained at the incident for three hours.
