Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has received 313 call so far this weekend. Here is a summary of the most newsworthy incidents

Dog rescued from Leigh kitchen fire

At 7.31pm, Friday September 30, a crew from Leigh and Atherton were called to a kitchen fire on Kilburn Close, Leigh.

Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reels and a high pressure fan to tackle the blaze and rescued one dog.

Ashton kitchen fire

At 4.15pm on Saturday, October 1, three fire engines form Ashton, Gorton and Mossley were called to a fire at Hurst Court, Ashton under Lyne.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus search the home and found a fire in the kitchen, they used hose reels to extinguish the fire. No people were involved

Derelict building fire in Eccles Park

At 6.22pm on Saturday, October 1, four fire engines and a hydraulic platform vehicle were called to a derelict building in Buile Hill Park, Eccles.

Firefighters fought the blaze from outside the building because it was too dangerous to enter and remain at the scene damping down.

The cause is under investigation and local authority building inspectors are assessing the building.

 Car crashes into shop on Reddish Lane, Gorton

At 9.11am, Sunday October 2, a crew from Gorton and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton were called to reports of a Range Rover, which had crashed into a two storey shop on Reddish Lane.

The crew used timber and specialist stabilisation equipment to shore up the front of the building and handed the incident over to Manchester City Council building inspectors.

One male casualty, believed to be the driver, was taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.
