Between 5.30pm on Friday, April 28 and 8.30am on Tuesday, May 2 we received 764 calls. Below are some of the incidents we responded to on Saturday, April 29.
Kitchen Fire – Rochdale
AT 11.27am on Saturday, April 29, three fire engines from Rochdale and Chadderton were called to a building fire in Maldon Street, Rochdale.
On arrival crews found a fire that had originated in the kitchen of the property due to cooking food being left unattended.
Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. The fire service trauma technician treated a casualty for smoke inhalation, before they were transferred to hospital by the ambulance service.
Industrial Unit Fire – Little Hulton
AT 18.35pm on Saturday, April 29, three fire engines from Farnworth and Bolton were mobilised to a fire in Highfield Road, Little Hulton.
The fire involved a large amount of cardboard at an industrial unit and firefighters used two hose reels and one jet to bring the fire under control, at which point they used a thermal imaging camera to check for spread.
Crews remained at the scene for two hours and 45 minutes.
