Commercial building fire – Rochdale
AT 8.53am on May 1, three fire engines from Rochdale and Heywood attended a commercial building fire in Ings Lane, Rochdale. On arrival, crews discovered the fire to be involving the ground floor of the property.
Crews used an ultra-high pressure cutting lance, two hose reels and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
Crews remained in attendance for four hours.
RTC – Bolton
TWO fire engines from Bolton Central and Horwich were joined by the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Leigh at a road traffic collision in the junction of Lostock Lane and De Havilland Way in Bolton at 2.30pm on May 1.
On arrival crews found the incident to be involving two vehicles with one person trapped. Firefighters used one hose reel, hydraulic cutting equipment and a reciprocating saw to rescue the casualty who was conveyed to hospital by NWAS.
Crews were in attendance for around one hour.
RTC – Oldham
AT 9.17pm on May 1, two fire engines from Chadderton and Oldham were joined by the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Ashton to a road traffic collision in Oldham Road, Royton.
On arrival crews found the RTC to be involving two vehicles with one casualty trapped. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment and stabilisation gear to rescue the casualty who was transferred to hospital by NWAS.
Firefighters were at the scene for approximately 50 minutes.
