House fire, Oldham

At 1pm on Tuesday 27 February, three fire engines from Oldham, Hollins and Chadderton were called to a fire involving a mattress and bedding in the bedroom of a house on Eden street in Oldham.

Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hosereels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to put the fire out.

Crews were in attendance for 45 minutes.


Commercial fire, Rochdale

At 7:17pm on Tuesday 27th February, three fire engines from Rochdale, Heywood and Chadderton were called to a fire on Oldham Road, Rochdale.

The fire involved a first floor storage room of a commercial building.

Firefighters used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus, a short extension ladder, lighting, thermal imaging camera, positive pressure ventilation fan and small gear to put the fire out.

Crews were in attendance for two hours.


RTC, M60 

At 8:57pm on Tuesday 27 February three fire engines from Ashton, Stalybridge and Gorton and the technical response unit and the major rescue unit from Ashton attended a road traffic collision on the M60 anticlockwise between junction 25 and 24.

Crews used cutting gear to rescue one person who was then taken to hospital.

Firefighters were on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
