Barn fire – Atherton
AT 11.10am on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, two fire engines from Atherton and Wigan attended a fire at a farm in Bag Lane, Atherton.
Firefighters tackled the fire in a disused barn using one hose reel and an axe.
Crew were at the scene for around one hour and 40 minutes and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Flat fire – Stockport
AT 11.17am on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, three fire engines from Marple, Whitehill and Offerton were mobilised to a building fire in Sunfield in the Romiley area of Stockport.
On arrival, crew found a fire involving an electrical intake cup board on the first floor of a three storey block. Crew used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a dry powder extinguisher to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters utilised a positive pressure fan to clear smoke from the building and were at the scene for around three hours.
