Kitchen fire - Wigan
At 08:56 on February 7 fire engines from Hindley, Wigan and Skelmersdale were alerted to a commercial building fire on Wallgate in Wigan. On arrival crews found a fire involving a deep fat fryer in the kitchen area of the three story building approximately forty meters by ten meters. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, wet chemical extinguisher and gas detectors to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance at this incident for forty five minutes.
Building fire - Manchester
At 09:21 on February 7 fire engines from Moss Side and Manchester Central where alerted to a domestic building fire on Longcrag Walk in Manchester. On arrival crews found a fire situated on the ground floor of the property. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation unit to tackle the fire. Crews were detained at the incident for approximately two hours and twenty minutes.
Car crash - Manchester
At 09:55 on February 7 fire engines from Manchester Central and Phillips Park and the Major Rescue Unit and Technical Response Unit from Ashton-Under-Lyne where alerted to a road traffic collision at the junction of Oldham Road and Droylsden Road in Manchester. Firefighters used hydraulic and battery powered cutting equipment and stabilization equipment during this incident. One casualty was released from a vehicle and transported to hospital. Crews were in attendance at this incident for fifty one minutes.
