Flooding - Far Lane, Gorton

At around 7.20am on Friday 15 January, two fire engines from Gorton fire station were called to reports of flooding at five domestic properties on Far Lane, Gorton, caused by a burst water main.

Crews arrived quickly at the scene and firefighters wearing flood gear attended to residents in affected properties. One engine from Ashton and one from Hyde were called to the incident to provide additional support.

Our crews are working with Manchester City Council and United Utilities to bring the situation under control. Road closures are in place on Hyde Road. Residents are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
