In need of a fun day out for all the family during the summer holidays? We have just the event for you.
This year’s Emergency Services Open Day will be taking place on Thursday, August 2, running for its eighth year.
The free family friendly event will take place at the intu Trafford Centre Orient car park from 10am until 4pm.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service will be joined by other emergency services including Greater Manchester Police, North West Ambulance Service, community safety teams, fire cadets and support vehicles at this year’s 999 day.
The action-packed family-fun day celebrates the work of our emergency services and highlights how the blue light services work together to serve the communities in Greater Manchester.
Don’t miss out on attending this great event with a number of activities available for all the family. Take a ride on our hydraulic platform, participate in CPR training and don’t forget to give our emergency service mascots a wave if you see them!
You can also see first-hand how we rescue casualties at a road traffic collision, working in partnership with other blue light services and watch our chip pan demonstration.
Station Manager Dominic Cunningham said: “We can’t wait for this year’s 999 Day and we expect it to be better than ever before so make sure you come along.
“The day of activities consists of such a wide range, focusing on all areas of the blue light services in Greater Manchester. It’s a great opportunity for both children and adults to pick up some vital life skills.”
This emergency services open day has grown into the largest non-corporate emergency services event in the UK.
