Commercial unit fire - Bury
AROUND fifty firefighters from across Greater Manchester battled a blaze at a storage unit overnight.
The fire involving a single story building in Bradley Fold Trading Estate, Radcliffe, was dealt with by crew using specialist equipment after receiving the initial call at 12.17am.
Firefighters managed to contain the fire to one unit thanks to the use of four ultra-high pressure lances. Due to the quick work of our dedicated fire crews, neighbouring properties were protected as firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two jets and a hydraulic platform to put water on the fire from height.
The incident begun scaling down at around 3.00am, but as of 10.00am this morning (February 14) two pumps remain at the scene as firefighters continue to check the area for any remaining pockets of fire.
