Information for our partners
If you are an organisation in Greater Manchester, this is where you can find information about working with us to improve both fire safety and wellbeing for people in our communities who are most at risk.
Our document, ‘Working in Partnership – Preventing Fires and Improving Wellbeing’, explains how we can work together. Our partnership agreement template illustrates what a written agreement with GMFRS might look like.
Whether you already work in partnership with GMFRS, or are interested in getting a partnership started, the resources on this page should assist you to make the most out of working with us.

Community Safety Services
To find out about the services we offer to the community, why not have a flick through our Community Safety Services brochure below. Inside you will find information about each service or activity, who the service is for and how to access it. If you prefer, you can download it here.
Safe and Well
We provide Safe and Well visits across Greater Manchester. Safe and Well visits are FREE home visits delivered by GMFRS staff to prevent fires and improve wellbeing for householders. Visits can include fitting of free smoke detection and fire risk reduction equipment, fire safety advice, brief advice, signposting and referrals to other organisations.
Preventing fires in the home is not just about making the home environment safer and addressing common causes of fire such as cooking, electrics, candles and heaters. Fire risk increases when other factors such as older age, living alone, poor smoking habits, substance misuse, medication, impaired mobility and some physical and mental health conditions, come into play.
We need you, our partners, to identify clients, tenants, patients and service users who may be at increased risk of fire due to their health or social care needs, their lifestyle or routines and/or the physical and social environment in which they live.

Work with us
We want to help our partners to understand and refer into our services. But we also need to understand what you – our partners – provide, so that our staff can refer and signpost people in the community to the right services. By doing this we can help people to access support, resources, treatment and advice to stay safe and well. To talk to us about working in partnership, please contact your local community safety manager or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
