Prevention in Prisons Programme (PiPP)
Our Prevention in Prisons Programme (PiPP) is an evidence-based approach to identify, assess and tackle issues within prisons, such as cell fires, ASB and reduce violence.
Sessions aim to understand and change the thinking, attitudes and behaviours which may lead prisoners to reoffend. Sessions include an induction presenting key safety message, cell fires and 4 weekly practical sessions (2-3 hours for a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 people).
This work is on-going and being supported by Professor Theresa Gannon, Professor of Forensic Psychology, Chartered Forensic Psychologist, Director of the Centre of Research and Education in Forensic Psychology from the University of Kent and Dr Emma Barrowcliffe, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University.
