Assistant Chief Fire Officer
Carlos began his firefighting career in 2002 with GMFRS, serving at several community fire stations across the boroughs of Stockport and Manchester.
He then worked as a corporate trainer and an area-based Group Manager in Salford and Trafford before moving to Fire Service Headquarters. Since then, Carlos has fulfilled a variety of roles, which have seen him lead on the Service's first HMICFRS inspection and head up Frontline Service Delivery.
Carlos was appointed as temporary Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) in October 2021, before securing his permanent ACFO role overseeing Service Delivery in June 2022.
On 1 December 2023 Carlos made the move from Service Delivery and is now Director of Prevention and Protection.
Carlos, who was born in Manchester, has been a member of our football team for a number of years, and has also represented the England Fire Service football section. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, nights out in the City Centre and watching Manchester United where he is a season ticket holder.
