Deputy Chief Fire Officer
Following his appointment as GMFRS’ Deputy Chief Fire Officer in November 2021, Ben joined GMFRS in January 2022.
Ben joined us from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, where he was an Assistant Chief Fire Officer and held the position of Director of Strategy and Planning.
Since joining our Service, Ben has been supporting our journey to improve and change the culture of the organisation ensuring the Service is fit for the future.
Ben oversees several key pieces of work helping us to deliver priorities outlined in our Fire Plan, including the improved capability in responding to and dealing with Marauding Terrorist Attacks or incidents involving large amounts of casualties.
Ben has a Master's in Business Administration and Executive Leadership Programme 2016, and he is the NFCC Strategic Lead for Operational Communications.
Ben's hobbies include DIY projects, city breaks as a family and voluntary work with young people.
