Barry Moore

Barry joined GMFRS in July 2022 as one of our Assistant Chief Fire Officers.

As Director of Service Support, Barry oversees Resilience, Business Continuity Management, Ops Support, Training Delivery, Organisational Learning, and Health and Safety. These areas of business include a number of high-profile programmes directly aligned to our Fire Plan including the major improvements underway at our Training and Safety Centre in Bury, which once complete will include a new incident command academy.

Barry joined us from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, where he served from 1993 and held the role of Area Manager as the strategic lead for the Operational Preparedness Directorate.

Barry enjoys the outdoors and likes to retreat to the hills of the Lake District and North Wales in his spare time. He is also a keen cyclist.
