BETWEEN 8.30am and 5.30pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to 41 incidents.

Kitchen fire - Hyde

AT 10:40am on Tuesday, September 12, two crews from Ashton-Under-Lyne and Stalybridge attended a fire at a school in Queen Street, Hyde.

Firefighters used one hose reel and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the flames involving a quantity of cardboard in the kitchen.

The cause of the fire was accidental. Crews were in attendance for approximately thirty five minutes.

RTC – M6 Motorway

AT 2:58pm on Tuesday, September 12, two crews from Wigan and Leigh along with the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Leigh were called to a collision on the M6 motorway, southbound between junction 25 and 26.

On arrival, crews used a hearth kit to stabalise the vehicle and assisted the ambulance service in rescuing one casualty.

Crews were in attendance for one hour and fifteen minutes.
