Cooking Fire – Edgeley – Friday, December 16
At 7.29pm three fire engines from Whitehill, Stockport and Cheadle attended a fire in Berlin Road in Edgeley in Stockport. The fire started in the kitchen of a terraced house and involved a cooker. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used one hose to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was accidental.
Flat fire – Bolton – Saturday, December 17
Just after midnight, three fire engines from Bolton Central and Bolton North attended a fire in a stairwell on a first floor flat in Gilnow Lane in Bolton. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus and using one hose reel, extinguished the fire. Firefighters were at the scene for just over 40 minutes. The fire was caused by smoking materials and upholstered seating.
Commercial building – Manchester – Saturday, December 17
At 1.06pm, five fire engines from Philips Park, Gorton, Moss Side and Salford attended a fire in Sackville Street in Manchester. The fire, in a commercial building, was tackled using one ultra-high pressured lance, one hose reel jet and a positive pressure ventilation unit. One casualty suffering smoke inhalation was looked after by North West Ambulance Service. Crews were on the scene for one hour and 35 minutes. The cause of the fire was accidental.

Road Traffic Collision – Bury – Saturday, December 17
At 2.44pm, two fire engines from Ramsbottom and Heywood along with the technical response unit and major rescue unit from Ashton under Lyne attended a road traffic collision on Humber Drive in Bury. The incident involved one car which had been driven into the kitchen of a bungalow. Firefighters cut the vehicle to allow the one person to escape. They were handed over to paramedics from North West Ambulance Service. Fire crew were on the scene for just over one hour.
Road Traffic Collision – Leigh – Saturday, December 17
At 7.45pm two fire engines from Leigh and Hindley together with the technical response unit from Leigh attended a road traffic collision involving one car on its roof at the junction of Leigh Road and Westbourne Avenue in Leigh. Two casualties with head injuries were taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Fire crew were on the scene for around half an hour.
High rise fire – Bolton – Sunday, December 18

House Fire – Manchester – Sunday, December 18
SHORTLY after 9.00pm on 18 December, 2016, crews from Phillips Park, Blackley and Manchester Central were called to a house fire in Cobden Street, Manchester. The fire started in the kitchen of the property and was out on arrival of the firefighters. Two adults and a child were treated by a fire service trauma technician at the scene for smoke inhalation. Firefighters used breathing apparatus to remove a faulty kitchen appliance from the house.The cause of the fire was accidental but crews wish to remind people to get their electrical appliances checked by a qualified professional.
