Weekend incidents - Sunday, April 23

Between 5.30pm on Friday, April 21, and 8.30am on Monday, April 24, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 602 calls and attended 335 incidents.

Kitchen fire – Stockport

AT 9.35am on Sunday, April 23, three crews from Stockport, Whitehill and Offerton were called to a fire in a mid-terraced property on Finland Road, Stockport.

On arrival crews found a fire in the kitchen and used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a specialist fan to extinguish it.

One casualty was led to safety by crews and assessed by a trauma technician.

Firefighters were on the scene for 45 minutes.

 

Car fire – Manchester

AT 9.43am on Sunday, April 23, two crews from Philips Park and Manchester Central were called to a fire involving three vehicles in a yard on Monsall Road, Manchester.

On arrival crews found the fire had spread to the roof lining of a single storey building and used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a ladder and breaking in gear to bring it under control.

The cause of the fire was deliberate.

Firefighters were in attendance for an hour.

 

Road traffic collision – Salford

TWO crews from Salford and the technical response unit and major response unit from Ashton attended a road traffic collision involving one car on Cemetery Road, Salford.

One casualty was rescued from the collision by crews using specialist cutting, tools, stabilising and first aid equipment.

Firefighters were in attendance for an hour.
