Domestic Garage Fire - Prestwich

At 3.58pm three fire engines from Whitefield, Salford and Broughton were called to a domestic garage fire at Lynmouth Court, Prestwich.  Firefighters used a hose reel, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for 55 minutes.

Derelict Building Fire - Rochdale

At 4.31pm three fire engines from Rochdale and Heywood were called to a fire on the ground floor of a two storey derelict building on Ashfield Road, Rochdale.  Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for 45 minutes.

Portable Cabins Fire - Wigan

At 4.42pm three fire engines from Wigan and Hindley were called to a fire involving portable cabins at the rear of a commercial building on Kenyon Road, Wigan.  Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for one hour.

Commercial Building Fire - Tyldesley

At 5.40pm three fire engines from Farnworth, Atherton and Leigh were called to a fire on the first floor of a commercial building on Lancaster Avenue, Tyldesley. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a high pressure fan to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for one hour and ten minutes.

 

Friday, October 28

Road Traffic Collision - Rochdale

At 12.56am two fire engines from Rochdale along with the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit were called to a road traffic collision with persons trapped on Halifax Road, Rochdale.  Firefighters released two casualties from the vehicle using cutting gear, lighting, hearth kit and a hose reel.

Firefighters were at the scene for an hour and a half.
