Between 5.30pm Thursday, February 16 and 8.00am Friday, February 17, 76 calls were made to North West Fire Control relating to incidents in the Greater Manchester area, with 36 requiring emergency response.
Below are some of the incidents attended by our firefighters overnight
Thursday, February 16
Road Traffic Collision – M66 Northbound
At 7.07pm a fire engine from Ramsbottom and Bury and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the M66 at Junction 2 Northbound.
Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.
Electric Blanket Fire - Radcliffe
At 9.29pm a fire engine from Whitefield and two fire engines from Farnworth were called to a house fire involving an electric blanket on Bridgefield Street, Radcliffe.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a gas detector and thermal imaging camera.
Firefighters were in attendance for just over one hour.
