FIREFIGHTERS have had a busy 24 hours with incidents including fires and road traffic collisions across the City Region.
These are the most notable incidents from yesterday evening, Tuesday, August 16 to Wednesday, August 17.
17:49 – A crew from Manchester Central, Agecroft and a Technical Response Unit from Ashton were called to reports of a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) on Eccles Road, Salford.
The crew rescued a casualty from an overturned vehicle using equipment to stabilise the vehicle and an electric saw to cut the casualty free, who was then taken to hospital.
18:05 – A crew from Stockport and Whitehill attended Greg Street in Stockport following reports of a fire in a yard.
Firefighters found a blaze involving tyres, which had spread to two adjacent units, they used an ultra-high-pressure lance and a hose reel to tackle the fire.
19:02 – A crew from Ashton, Offerton and Hyde were called to a fire involving an industrial sludge dryer.

19.53 - Firefighters were called to a fire in a kitchen on the first floor of a building on Kemp Street, Middleton.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the blaze and two people were rescued and treated with oxygen therapy for smoke inhalation.
21:51 – Three fire engines from Heywood and Whitefield attended a small fire involving clothes in a house on Walmersley Road, Bury.
Two firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the blaze and rescued a dog.
23:11 – A crew from Farnworth and Bolton attended a fire involving decking at a house on Tulip Avenue, Kearsley.
Firefighters used a hose to extinguish the blaze and a saw to cut away the decking and prevent the fire from spreading further.
23:24 – Firefighters from Withington and Wythenshawe attended a fire involving a pan of food on a cooker in a house on Gibwood Road, Manchester.
The crew used a hose reel to tackle the blaze and one person was treated for smoke inhalation.
3:25 – Three fire engines form Oldham and Chadderton went to a house fire on Victoria Street, Oldham.
They found a fire involving a pan of food on a cooker, which was out on arrival, one casualty was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
