Overnight Incidents - 5.30pm Monday, February 20 to 8.00am Tuesday, February 21

Incident Date: 21 February 2017

Between 5.30pm on Monday, February 20, and 8.00am on Tuesday, February 21, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 90 calls and were mobilised to 49 incidents.

Below are some of the incidents attended by our firefighters:

Cooking Fire - Leigh

At 7.18pm three fire engines from Leigh, Hindley and Wigan were called to a cooking fire involving a pan of food at a house on Twist Lane, Leigh.

Firefighters treated two casualties at the scene prior to them being taken to hospital by ambulance.

Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 50 minutes.


Building Fire - Ashton-in-Makerfield 

At 7.21pm a fire engine from Wigan were called a derelict outbuilding fire on Bolton Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield.

Firefighters used two hose reels, one breathing apparatus and breaking-in-gear.

Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes. 


Cooking Fire - Ashton-under-Lyne


At 8.58pm a fire engine from Oldham, Hollins and Stalybridge were called to a cooking fire involving a pan of food at a house on Scafell Avenue, Ashton-under-Lyne.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a pressure fan to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were in attendance for just over one hour.


Cooking Fire - Rochdale 

At 10.33pm three fire engines from Rochdale and Heywood were called to an oven fire in a house on Tudor Hall Street, Rochdale.

Firefighters used one breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were in attendance for 45 minutes.

Tuesday, February 21

Building Fire - Ashton-under-Lyne 

At 3.31am a fire engines from Ashton, Stalybridge and Oldham were called to a fire in a disused store on Kings Road, Ashton-under-Lyne.

Firefighters used three breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a pressure fan to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were in attendance for one hour.
