GREATER Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has received 188 calls over the last 24 hours and here are the most newsworthy incidents from overnight.
Chimney fire in Oldham
At 6.22pm a crew from Mossley and Oldham were called to a house on Oldham Road, Grasscroft after reports of a house on fire.
On arrival crew found a fire, which was caused by a wood burning stove, and used a toolkit to remove the stove and extinguish the blaze which had spread to the chimney.
A fire service trauma technician treated a woman for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Two people treated for smoke inhalation after Gorton kitchen blaze
At 6.57pm a crew from Gorton and Moss Side attended a house on Hope Road, Salford, after reports of a fire in the kitchen.
Crew found a fire caused by an unattended pan of food on the cooker, which was out on arrival, and used a high pressure fan to clear the smoke.
A fire service trauma technician treated a man and a woman at the scene for smoke inhalation and they declined hospital treatment.
Fire in pizza oven at Italian restaurant
At 8.17pm a crew from Manchester Central and Salford were called to Jackson Row, Manchester, after reports of a fire in an Italian restaurant involving the wood fired pizza oven.
The crew isolated the oven and firefighters on a hydraulic platform used thermal imaging cameras to ensure the oven and chimney had cooled and there was no further risk of fire.
