BETWEEN the hours of 5.30pm on Wednesday, March 8 and 8.30am on Thursday, March 9, we received 103 calls and turned out to 55 incidents.

Cooking fire – Wigan

TWO fire engines from Wigan and one from Hindley were mobilised to a fire involving an oven at a terrace house in Manley Street, Ince and 9.52pm on March 8, 2017.

Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to deal with the fire and cleared smoke from the house using a positive pressure fan. One woman suffered slight smoke inhalation at the scene but declined hospital treatment.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around 45 minutes.

 

Industrial building fire – Tameside

OVER 50 firefighters spent the night fighting a fire in Cricket Street, Denton.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service was called to an industrial building in Denton, Tameside, just after 2.10am (Thursday, March 9, 2017).
