BETWEEN the hours of 5.30pm on Thursday, March 9, and 8.00am on Friday, March 10 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 87 calls and attended 41 incidents.
Here are details of two incidents firefighters attended:
Kitchen Fire – Manchester
JUST after 10pm on March 9, three fire engines from Philips Park, Manchester Central and Broughton attended a kitchen fire in Rome Road, Manchester.
The fire began from a pan of food on a cooker, and to extinguish it firefighters used; two breathing apparatus and one hose reel.
Firefighters rescued one person from the property and were in attendance for forty five minutes.
House Fire – Hindley
AT precisely 10.43pm on March 9, three fire engines from Wigan and Hindley attended a building fire in Lime Vale, Ince.
The fire originated from a candle that was placed too close to the curtains in the bedroom. To extinguish the fire, firefighters used one breathing apparatus and one hose reel. Firefighters then used one positive ventilation pressure fan to disperse the smoke.
There were no casualties at the scene and crews were in attendance for 45 minutes.
