House fire – Oldham – January 10, 2017

AT 5.08pm on January 10, 2017, two fire engines from Oldham and two from Hollins and Chadderton attended a fire in the living room of a ninth floor flat in Manchester Street, Oldham. Firefighters used one jet and two breathing apparatus to tackle the flames and along with paramedics treated two casualties for smoke inhalation at the scene.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental, by electrical, and crews were in attendance for one hour.

Shop fire – Wigan – January 10, 2017

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at a shop in Old Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield at 6.55pm on January 10, 2017. Crews used one hose real to extinguish the fire and cleared smoke using a positive pressure fan.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental, believed to be faulty electrics on a drinks chiller in the shop. Crews were in attendance for 45 minutes.
