Overnight Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 84 '999' calls. The most significant are detailed below.
9.13pm - A fire engine from Chadderton and two fire engines from Oldham attended a building fire in Oban Avenue, Oldham. This fire was in the bedroom of a semi-detached property. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus wentinto the house to extinguish the fire and also use a positive pressure fan to clear the smoke and bring the fire under control. They were there for about 40 minutes.
1.36am - A fire engine from Heywood and a fire engine from Chadderton joined the technical response unit from Ashton at a collision involving a car and a lorry on the A267M at Rochdale. Three people were out of the vehicles when we arrived and we helped paramedics from North West Ambulance Service to care for them. Crew were in attendance for about 90 minutes.
2.10am - A fire engine from Gorton and the water incident unit from Eccles were supported by the Technical Response Unit from Ashton at an incident in Princess Street, Manchester. A man on the canal bank was walked to safety by firefighters and crew were in attendance about 25 minutes.
