Tumble drier fire in Bowden

We were called at 12.35pm on Saturday, August 27, to a semi-detached house on East Downs Road, Bowden, where there was a fire involving a tumble drier. Firefighters used a hose reel, two breathing kits and a foam extinguisher to put the fire out and were there for an hour. Crew from Altrincham, Sale and Withington attended.

Three youths rescued from Ramsbottom river

At 3.37pm we were called to a water incident at the River Irwell in Ramsbottom, where three youths had got into difficulty in a dinghy. Firefighters from Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall, Ashton-under-Lyne and a water incident unit from Heywood attended and helped the youths to the banking. Crew were at the incident for 20 minutes.

Fabric fire in Manchester

We were called at 4.27pm to a fire involving fabric in a ground floor mid-terraced property on Gathurst Street, Manchester. Firefighters from Gorton, Philips Park and Manchester Central used two breathing kits and one hose reel to put the fire out. Crew were there for one hour.

Fire at derelict Manchester building

At 6.43pm we were called to a fire at a single storey derelict building on Raglan Street, Manchester. Firefighters used two breathing kits, one thermal imaging camera, a hose reel, a ventilation fan and a nine-metre ladder to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is not known. Two crew from Bolton attended and were there for one hour.

Bathroom fire at Manchester semi

We were called at 9.58pm to a fire in a bathroom of a semi-detached house on Goldcrest Close, Manchester. Firefighters from Wythenshawe and Stockport used four breathing kits, one hose reel and a ventilation fan and were there for 20 minutes.

Bolton road accident

At 10.51pm we were called to a road traffic incident where a vehicle overturned on Gilnow Road, Bolton. One casualty was removed from the vehicle by firefighters and taken to hospital by the ambulance service. Two fire engines from Bolton and a major rescue unit from Leigh attended.
