BETWEEN 5.30pm Tuesday, March 27 and 8.00am Wednesday, March 29 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 84 calls and attended 43 incidents.
Here are some incidents firefighters attended:
AT 8.11pm on Tuesday, March 28, two fire engines from Eccles and one from Agecroft were call to a kitchen fire in Cavendish Road in Eccles.
The fire began due to an unattended pan of food on the cooker, and was well alight when firefighters arrived on the scene. To tackle the flames they used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and ventilation fan.
There were no casualties as a result of the fire and firefighters remained at the scene for 35 minutes.
Watch Manager Henthorne, who attended the incident said: “We’d like to remind people never to leave food unattended whilst cooking and to ensure their smoke alarms and not disconnected and are in fully working order.
“These quite simple steps can prevent fires, such as this one we attended.”
