Between the hours of 5.30pm on Thursday February 2, and 8.30 am on Friday February 3, 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 108 calls and were mobilised to 42 incidents. The below may be of interest.
Thursday, February 2
Rubbish fire – Rochdale
THREE crews from Rochdale and Heywood attended a fire on Howard Street, Rochdale, at 10.59pm on Thursday February 2, 2017.
The fire involved a small amount of rubbish in the stairwell of a block of flats, with firefighters using one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
Crews would like to remind people to store their wheelie bins securely, away from property and take any additional waste to your nearest local authority waste refuse site.
Firefighters were on the scene for under 10 minutes.
Friday, February 3
Kitchen fire - Wigan
AT 2.09am on Friday, February 3, three crews from Wigan and Hindley attended a fire at a property on Billinge Road, Wigan.
On arrival crews found a fire in the kitchen, and checked over one casualty before ambulance crews arrived.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, a positive pressure fan and one hose reel.

Firefighters were on the scene for an hour.
The cause is believed to be accidental.
