GREATER Manchester Fire and Rescue Service firefighters cut a man from the wreckage of a light aircraft, which crashed near Barton Aerodrome on Monday, August 15.
The Service was called at 12.58pm after reports that a light aircraft had crash landed into trees near City Airport and Heliport, off Liverpool Road in Eccles, Salford.
After being freed from the aircraft, a man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The aircraft was a single-seater plane and the man was the only person on board.
The aircraft crashed into trees on the east side of the Barton Aerodrome airfield and there are not believed to be any injuries to others or damage to properties in the area.
