Large fire in commercial building - Bolton – February 24, 2017
Crews are currently assessing the building for safety and will allow residents to return to their homes as soon as possible.
People are advised to avoid the immediate area around Parrot Street and not to make any unnecessary journeys around Great Lever.
STATION Manager Paul Duggan said: “We have three aerial appliances fighting the fire from above and firefighters are tackling the fire on the ground. A number of residents in the area have been evacuated, with assistance from Greater Manchester Police and Bolton Council. The council are assisting to find temporary accommodation.
"An engineer from the council has also been requested to assess the building.”

FIREFIGHTERS are continuing to tackle a large commercial building fire in Bolton. We currently have 11 fire engines at the scene and three aerial appliances.
A number of local residents close to the fire have been evacuated as a precaution.
Due to the number of fire vehicles and firefighting hose involved, there will be an impact on traffic in the area.
FIREFIGHTERS are fighting a large commercial fire at Parrot Street, Bolton.
Around 60 firefighters were called to Parrot Street at 05.01am. On arrival they were faced by a large fire engulfing a commercial building 75m by 20m in size.
Local residents are advised to close their doors and windows. Traffic in the area will be affected.
