Overnight Incidents - Tuesday, February 28, 4.30pm to Wednesday, March 1 8am

BETWEEN the hours of 4.30pm on Tuesday, February 28, and 8am on Wednesday,March 1 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 99 calls and attended 44 incidents.

Here are details of some of the incidents firefighters attended:

Vehicle Fire - Altrincham

At 5.29pm one fire engine from Wilmslow, two fire engines from Wythenshawe and one fire engine from Altrincham attended a fire involving a van in a tunnel on Wilmslow Road, Ringway, Altrincham.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one main jet and a pressure van to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were in attendance for three and a half hours.

 

Cooking Fire - Droylsden

At 6.36pm two fire engines from Philips Park and Ashton under Lyne attended a grill pan fire at a house on Arnold Drive, Droylsden.

Firefighters used a pressure fan to clear the smoke.  One casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Firefighters were in attendance for 40 minutes.

 

Cooking Fire – Rochdale

At 6.39pm two fire engines from Heywood and one fire engine from Rochdale attended a cooking fire at a house on Friars Crescent, Rochdale.

Firefighters used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus and a pressure fan.

Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 20 minutes.


Cooking Fire – Woodhouse Park

At 7.35pm fire engines from Wythenshawe, Withington, Moss Side and Stockport attended a fire involving a pan of food in a flat on Hilary Road, Woodhouse Park.

One casualty was treated by North West Ambulance Service.

Firefighters were in attendance for thirty five minutes.

 

Cooking Fire – Stockport

At 10.32pm three fire engines from Ashton under Lyne, Stockport and Offerton attended a cooking fire at a house on Truro Avenue, Brinnington.

Firefighters were in attendance for just under 20 minutes.
