In total GMFRS received 132 emergency calls between 8am on Sunday, August 21, and 8am this morning, August 22.
Here are some of the more notable incidents:
At 7.32am on Sunday, August 21, we were called to a fire at a building on Victory Road, Little Lever, Bolton. The fire was at the front door of a detached property and crew used a hose reel and positive pressure fan to fight it. Firefighters from Bolton Central and Farnworth attended the incident and were at the scene for around 30 minutes
We were called at 8.41am on Sunday, August 21, to a shed fire at Cedar Grove in Farnworth. Firefighters used two hose reels, three breathing kits, breaking in tools and a positive pressure ventilation fan. One casualty was given oxygen by a fire service trauma technician after suffering smoke inhalation. Two fire engines from Farnworth attended and crew were at the scene for two hours.
At 11.34am on Sunday, August 21,we were called to a building fire at Plymouth View, Manchester. When arriving at the scene firefighters discovered the fire involved a wheelie bin in partially unoccupied flats. Crew from Gorton, Moss Side and Manchester Central attended and they used one hose reel and breaking in gear while putting the fire out. They were at the scene for 25 minutes.
We received a call at 2.03am on Monday, August 22, to a fire at Bardsley Close Mottram. This was in a mid-terraced property and crew used two breathing kits, two hose reels, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a Dewalt saw in putting the fire out. It was attended by engines from Gorton, Hyde and Stalybridge and firefighters were on the scene for just under an hour.
