Between 5.30pm on Friday, February 17, and 8.30am on Monday, February 20, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 439 calls and were mobilised to 231 incidents.
Scrap yard fire - Royton
THREE crews from Oldham and Chadderton attended an incident on Mossdown Road, Royton, at 0.43am on Saturday, February 18.
Crews found a large fire in a scrap yard involving wood and waste.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using two jets and once lance, and were on the scene for approximately ten hours.
Shed fire – Farnworth
AT 10.08am on Saturday, February 18, two crews from Farnworth and Bolton Central attended a fire at the allotments on Devon Street, Farnworth.
Firefighters found a shed on fire and used two hose reels and a positive pressure fan to bring it under control.
Crews were in attendance for one hour and 20 minutes.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
Road traffic collision - Manchester
AT 9.52pm on Saturday, February 18, two crews and a specialist unit from Manchester Central, Blackley and Ashton attended a road traffic collision involving four cars on Rochdale Road, Manchester.
Crews assisted paramedics with nine casualties, with two casualties taken to hospital.
Firefighters used first aid and lighting equipment, and were in attendance for approximately one hour and 35 minutes.
