At 4.45pm a fire engine from Marple attended a chimney fire in a detached bungalow at a home on Richmond Road in Romiley. Crews used a thermal image camera to locate the fire and a chimney rod to extinguish it. The cause of the fire was accidental. Crews were on the scene for 55 minutes.
At 7.22pm three fire engines from Farnworth and Bolton Central attended a tumble dryer fire on Princess Avenue in Kearsley. The family who live in the semi-detached property were informed of the fire by smoke and their two working smoke alarms. The cause of the fire was accidental. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and were at the property for 20 minutes.
At 4.37am one fire engine from Philips Park went to a vehicle fire on Cardinal Street in Manchester. The car was alight outside the owner’s home and firefighters extinguished the car using a hose reel. Their other car, also outside their house was affected. The owner was alerted to the fire when they heard a noise outside. The cause of the fire was deliberate. Crews were at the scene for 35 minutes.
