Between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Wednesday, March 22 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 59 calls and attended 31 incidents.
Here are details of incidents firefighters attended:
Kitchen Fire – Manchester
AT precisely 10.25am on Wednesday, March 22, three fire engines, from Moss Side, Sale and Stretford responded to a house fire in Cheltenham Road, Manchester.
The fire began in the kitchen of the house and firefighters used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and ventilation fan to extinguish it.
One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation but wasn’t taken to hospital. Firefighters were on the scene for thirty minutes.
Road Traffic Collision – Oldham
AT 2.26pm on Wednesday, March 22, firefighters from Oldham responded to a Road Traffic Collision in Watergate Road in Oldham.
When the fire crews arrived at the scene they were able to free a man that was trapped in his car after it had collided with a lamp post. Once the man was out of the car a long board was used to ensure no further injury was caused.
Ambulance staff then took over the care of the man and took him to hospital for further checks. They remained on the scene for around 45 minutes.
